XIV Conference of the National Cryptologic Center will receive papers until October 5th

The STIC CCN-CERT Conference reaches its fourteenth edition this year, under the slogan: „New challenges, same commitment“, the CCN-CERT keeps open until October 5th, the deadline for the reception of contribution proposals (Call For Papers). The presentations of the participants should be framed on topics such as, cyber spying and blockchain technology, among others, as outlined by the website of the Cryptographic Center of Spain, this August 24th.

From November 30th to December 4th, the XIV STIC CCN-CERT Conference will take place in Madrid (Kinépolis -City of the image-), where the whole community involved in the safeguard of the Spanish cyberspace will be gathered: Government and Public Administrations (including public institutions that watch over it such as INCIBE, Joint Command of Cyber Defense and National Police), companies, universities and citizens themselves, interested in network security, with the common objective of creating a safe and reliable digital society for all, explained the CCN’s communiqué.

Capacity

This XIV edition of the main cyber-security event to be held in Spain, organized by the National Cryptographic Center CCN, will be developed „under the new normality“, following all the security protocols recommended by the health authorities, due to the situation generated worldwide by the COVID-19, so two Bitcoin Era scenarios are proposed:

A first scenario (A), where the celebration of the event will be held behind closed doors, with streaming transmission of all the presentations and the presence of authorities, speakers and organization in situ, and a second scenario (B), where the celebration will be held in person, with a reduced capacity of 30% of the three rooms: networking area and sponsor’s stand, in addition to streaming transmission.

For the first time, the Conference will be held over 5 days (Monday to Friday), in three rooms: Room 25, where the event will take place; Room 18, where what happens in Room 25 will be broadcast in anticipation of the limited capacity; and Room 19, reserved in the morning for the CCN-CERT LABS workshops and in the afternoon for the sponsors‘ presentations. Topics such as, Blockchain, Technological Innovation in Cybersecurity, Information Exchange (sharing models), Malware detection in client computers, National Strategy for Cybersecurity, Crisis Management, Operational Networks, Attacks and defense in industrial control systems, Machine learning/deep learning applied to cybersecurity, Regulatory Compliance (ENS, NIS Directive, RGPD, etc.), are some of the items to be covered by those interested in participating in the new edition of the STIC CCN-CERT Workshops.

STIC CCN-CERT Conference

The National Cryptologic Center, attached to the National Center of Intelligence of Spain, organizes since 2007 the STIC CCN-CERT Conference, this conference has become the main meeting of experts in cyber security in Spanish and a reference in the international scene. During its history, this event has been supported by State institutions: Royal House, Government, regional and local governments, along with a significant representation of Latin American countries.

Blockchain technology is implemented in gold mining with greater strength

The CCN, and within its functions to promote the culture of cybersecurity, undertakes a large number of information and awareness actions, in Spain and abroad. This year, it has signed an agreement with the EAN University of Colombia, with the intention of internationalizing its STIC CCN-CERT Conference in the South American country. This meeting is scheduled to take place on the 16th and 17th of 2021, with the aim of promoting knowledge and information exchange among all Latin American countries and facilitating the presence of sponsoring companies in this market.

This event has been held uninterruptedly for 13 years in the month of December. Last year, the XIII CCN-CERT 2019 Conference was attended by 3,300 people under the slogan „Community and trust. Bases de nuestra Ciberseguridad“, where they addressed issues such as threats, attacks and technological challenges; prevention in cyber security; military operations in space, disinformation, among others.
