| Cooper has developed a mild yeast infection in his front paws as a result of licking/allergies. It's time for his heartworm...do I just give it, or will it throw his system that much more out of whack? (It's freezing here, so no mosquitoes around at the moment.) |

| Were there mosquitos around a month ago? HW works after the fact, so you want to give it until 30-45 days after the last possible exposure. Also if you stop giving it, ie, don't give it year round, you need to test before you put him back on it next season. If it were me, I would not do it assuming he was not exposed to mosquitos a month ago. |

Thanks Anne! Sadly, we had mosquitoes in July & August, so I have a hard decision to make. However, his feet have improved some. Here we give heartworm from May 30 to Nov 30 as weather conditions don't support the heartworm organism developing in mosquitoes before or after that. So we have to test anyhow.
