Good job Champion Logan! Very Happy I saw your boy in the WCA mag--handsome fella. And I didn't realize how young he was to finish his CH! Cool.

Thank you!! Yeah.. i'm new to this show thing (he's my first show dog), so people are being sure to let me know it's not normally this easy to finish a dog, so to be sure to enjoy it. I know how lucky I was... honestly, I know I had nothing to do with it.

WCA Mag: thank you! Both the Breeders and I are very proud of him. We are discussing letting him mature a bit and then Special him.... and so the saga continues! Smile

Hey at least with dog shows you don't have to buy horses, a bigger horse trailer, and a diesel truck to pull it all! But it's the beginning... Very Happy

LOL - it's true, no horse trailer...... YET. Smile

Let's see how much I can bite off *AND* chew! Shocked

I will say that i"m not sending Logan off with a handler.. I'm following in a friend of mines footsteps who had a Top Ten Special never missing a show and him at home pretty much every night. I'm not saying he'll be Top Ten, or we'll even get that far (he's only 14 months so some growing yet to do) ... but, that's the plan of now.

And Anne, yes, I want to do some field work. ... and obedience... AND agility, you forgot a few. Laughing

Good thing he's versatile.... and that I'm more than slightly insane LOL

More wonderful words were never spoken than those! Love it! Too late to turn back now!

Speaking of insane...I just finished my teeter for my "backyard agility course." Hehe. (pictures when I can locate my camera!) My neighbors have stopped talking to me... Very Happy Very Happy

HAHAHAHAHAHA That's *awesome*!! I cannot wait to have a yard full. I LOVE IT! I wish you were a neighbor of mine!! You have to get some pictures up... find that camera!!

Anne - Amen to that!! lol A dog of many "collars" Surprised)

Agility is actually why I got him. The rest was just incidental while I waited for him to mature. And now I'm in the middle of moving, so I'm gonna wait to start until I get up to Seattle-area and settled to start classes.

BUT I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Congratulations to you and CH!!! Logan!

I'd do the field work (and maybe the agility) first, then the obedience later. You're getting (time-wise) to where he has his maximum potential in the field for trials and tests. Probably the best place to start would be AKC hunt tests (JH,SH,MH) as they're relatively the simplest to get, and you're not ending up getting braced against big-running pointers and setters and such. Not to mention not needing to have a horse, horse trailer....etc etc. Another venue to try is North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA.com) They even put out a book and video on field training your dog and prepping them for the tests. The only thing is that you're up against a little bit of a deadline for the first testing (16 months is the age-out for the Natural Ability test)

Logan is definitely sound enough that he could do the running for it!!

He's magnificent, Lani.

You could probably get him into a NAVHDA NA test. He can do it before he's 16 months and it's such a great way to start and meet really nice people.

I posted a pic of the teeter in the agility section. I also forgot to mention the other reasons my neighbors think I'm a freak...Bertha the RV parked in the driveway and our birdpen. They love when our quail get out and walk around in their yard! Very Happy Very Happy
