| Anna is correct, White on the chest is not unusual, and I have a friend who received a very nice import from Germany and it had white on it's feet, which is not a big deal over there, it would only impact you if you were showing I think. I have even seen them with Dobe markings tan spots on the eyebrows and feet. Have been told this is not very common but is also a known variant of the breed color. Would probably be frowned apon in the show ring(but I don't know about that) but the birds don't care):>) |

| White on the chest is perfectly normal and accepted in the weim standard. White naywhere else on the boy liek the toes is a fault. It doesn't mena you dog is not prubred or has bad genes at all. The white moreso it is called we don't know the mode of inheritance. You can breed 2 weims with no markings and produce puppies with white marking, go figure. Some sires are know to be "white blockers" and will block the white from coming out. I personally LOVE the white spot on the chest. it gives them character!!!! A weim with white on the chest can still be shown and has no impact on them winning or loosing. I'd rather have a weim with white whan one with health issues. Weims don't die from a white patch!!! |

Grace has a white patch and i love it
I was doing an interview for someone who wanted to adopt a weim from the rescue and he mentioned one of the dogs we had on our site and that he felt the description of him was perfect but he didnt want that dog because he was worried it was mixed with something else bc of a white patch on his chest. I was like ummm nooo my weimer has a white patch and shes not mixed w/ anything else. |

my pup also has a white patch -- out of four weims i've had, he's the first one with a white patch. when i first saw it, i wasn't crazy about it, but now I absolutely adore it and am so glad he has it.
It's also a little off center which makes it even cuter... |

Leshiy has a white spot too, I love it!! This isn't the best picture of it, but it looks like the state of Alaska. He is 100% bona fide pure Weimie. I think the white spots are cool because they are unique (no two exactly alike, like snowflakes)...

Ari has a white stipe on her chest. White patches are accepted in the show ring as others have said... however it is up to the judge of the day to decide what "small" is...
In Australia they are also allowed white on their feet. Ari has two white patches on the underside of her pastern and they are so sweet and extra soft!!
Best pic i could get of Ari's patch
oh and the tan markings are highly frowned upon in the showring and are a disqualifying fault in every country I think... |

White on the back of the pasterns is very common and not a DQ fault.
The tan points are called the "Mark of the Hound" and are a recessive gene carried by some dogs. It is not all that uncommon. I know of several popular studs who are carriers. |
