when is skinny too skinny?

Do you get people walking up to you and telling you to feed your dog? I did! It took Cooper about 18 months before he muscled out and stopped looking like a gawky teenage boy. He is from an English line which tends to be smaller & more sleekly muscled than some of the big American weims I see. Both are beautiful.

He is currently looking very skinny and we are feeding unreal amounts of raw food(2 lbs) + 1 pound of satin's balls, (without grain-allergies) plus treats & marrow bones.

He has always been on the slender side because of grain allergies & food intolerance. When we checked our weight records, Cooper is less than 3 lbs off his top weight of 59 lbs. But on a small weim like him, that is about 5%! I know I'd like to lose 5 % of my weight! Wink

He's gained 1/2 pound on the satin's ball in 2 weeks. Even half a pound on a slighter weim like Cooper makes a difference!

IMO, these dogs are athletes, and they look like it. Cooper looks a bit more like a marathoner right now, but in a month he'll look like a world class sprinter with gorgeous cut muscles. You just don't see that in many other breeds kept as pets. Smile

Not with this one. But with my last wiem Misty yes. People would all the time ask if she was ok or not?....She was long and lean like a classic wiem. Ashley is small and round like a.....he he hehe...I won't go there! Laughing
