| I want to start feeding the kids some veggies in their food to give them a little more fiber. What veggies do you feed your dogs? Zehen has always liked carrots, and they both love sweet potatos. Anything else? Are there certain things I shouldn't feed them? I know no onions or grapes/raisins. Anything else? |

Our LOVE veggies. Carrots, cauliflour, broccoli, potatoes, celery you name it. Onion, garlic and graps can all be toxic to dogs so those are things you should avoid hover if they get into them by accident it's fine. Just in large volumes it's hardful to the kidneys
Remeber thought that vaggies are still a calorie content so you must adjust your regular food intake if they get a lot of veggies. Weims are hoover hounds and can really baloon with their weight if not properly watched
So go experiment and have fun see what your dog LOVES!! |

She meant grapes not graps. No raisins either.
Derek like carrots but nothing else. I tried broccoli this weekend. he took it nicely and then spit it out. Everyone laughed. |

Wrench loves carrots but only cooked and soft. Green beans and sweet potatoes as well....cor and peas dont' really digest much...my rule is if you see it in their poo don't bother feeding it you are wasting your time and money...however sometimes you will see a little carrot but not much.
Apples he will only eat from hand...not in his bowl at all....he LOVES peaches. ( sliced can type).
zuccini and squash a bit.
Not broccoli...he just plays with it. |

Django LOVES his carrots. He also loves green beans although he has a hard time eating them sometimes because his mouth is so big and the beans are so skinny. It's quite funny to watch. He also loves potato and apples (without the peeling). And...if you're eating a peach and you hold it away from you while you answer the phone...he'll be sure to lick it for you to make sure you don't drip on the floor.
Oh, and don't turn you back on an ear of corn either. |

Mine LOVE green beans! They can't get enough of them! They love the frozen ones, but they also like the canned ones. I buy no salt added cans when they're on sale. I mix canned green beans in with their food and give them frozen ones one bean at a time for a treat. They are NUTS for green beans!!

| Add corn cobs (whole) to your list of no- no's. They can cause an obstruction. |

| He gets that dangly drool thing flowing when I eat bananas. He eats them but walks around making a funny face while he is doing it. I think it sticks to the roof of his mouth. |

| I've started adding frozen green beans to their food everynight. They LOVE them!!! And I've noticed that their poops are more solid too. They like sweet potatos too. I'm going to try apples, and carrots next. |

So for the veggies you give your dogs, do you cook them or not?
Like Sweet Potato - raw? Or cooked? I imagine that raw would be awful to digest, but hey I'm not a dog... and do you give them whole or cut them up into pieces?
I would love to add some variety to her kibble menu! |
