Hello from the northern mountains of New Mexico

I was searching the web for something else dog related and came across this website. My Weimaraner Jasper passed away on Nov. 7th of 2009 from lymphoma and I still miss him terribly. I became a member because, when the time is right (not now as I have a 2 month old baby and own a business= no time), I would like to adopt a Weimaraner and I noticed the rescue postings. And, in the meantime, I will enjoy the happy Weimaraner posts and pictures from everyone. I have posted Jasper's obituary in the "Land of Golden Trails & Wagging Tails" area.

You will know when the time is right.
Thank you for considering a rescue. Our girl was an owner surrender, their decision gave us a wonderful addition to our family.

Welcome from NJ. I am sorry about your loss. You will find much comfort here, either talking about Jasper to a captive audience or sharing one of our many tales of our own beloved Weims!

Thank you for considering rescue; you will know when the time is right for another Weim... and he or she will find you.

Welcome from Pennsylvania! The time will come when you know it's right to bring a new Weim into your family. For now we'd love to see any pictures you have of your beloved Jasper, if you wouldn't mind sharing. (I just went and read what you wrote on the other page and he certainly was a "good" dog.)

Welcome from Minnesota. I'm glad we got to know Jasper, even if it was from reading about his passing. I know we would all love to see a photo of that "GOOD DOG!" I'm sure you will miss him forever but he'll comfort you with warm memories.

So sorry to hear about Jasper. He sounds like quite an amazing dog.

Congrats on the new two legged baby in your family. I am sure that takes up some of the time you would give to a dog, but when you are ready rescuing is an excellent choice. If you choose to rescue an adult, you will have the advantage of missing some of that time consuming puppy stage and if it is fostered, you can ask them how good the dog is with children.

I am on my second rescue weim and they both have taught me a lot about dogs and the bond that can be established no matter how old the dog is. Rescues really are great!

Congrats on becoming a new parent in the midst of your grief. When you are ready, rescue is an excellent choice. Welcome to WA from me and my wiggle butts in Oklahoma!
