i thought pumpkin was a stool neutralizer.. meaning it will firm up or loosen up.. whichever is necessary..
i have always fed Hooch pumpkin.. a little bit.. almost every day to help firm poop.
Hooch usually has a decent poop, then a 2nd one.. a little loose..
when i was away, cass didn't give him any pumpkin..(because she ran out.. so it became an accidental experiment)..
and all of his poops were firm.. and mostly required only one squat..
i have stopped adding it in, and violla!!.. firm nice poop.
hmmm.. i guess every pup really is different..

Sounds like with what you are feeding he has good poop on his own. Smile

We usually use pumpkin only when one of the dogs has diarrhea and most times it helps fairly quickly.

Fiber works both ways.

And you know you are a dog person when you can have long extensive conversations about poop.

that and either have too much time on your hands and/or are a huge procrastinator to do things that aren't quite as entertaining.. ie.. laundry, cleaning, studying, etc..

as per ellen, "why wait? procrastinate!"
