We are getting ready to hunker down for a few days. Hanna is supposed to touch land just south of us, and we are going to get the worst of it. (We are 10 miles south of Surf City, NC.) I'm frantically doing laundry and stocking up on water so if the power goes out we have clothes and water.
I'm worried about the dogs getting bored hanging around the house while the storm blows over and then everything is getting cleaned up. Any ideas from some games I can play with them in the house? Usually they are pretty good about keeping themselves entertained, but you never know! |

I hope the storm ends up being nothing but a bit of a breeze for you.
Stay safe.

Hopes and prayers from us here at this house!
Other than filled Kong's and playing I don't know what you can do to keep them busy. We play hide and seek with cookies, but I am afraid with the storm coming you won't have to do any of the hiding, it might do it for you!
Good luck and stay safe! |

| Good luck with the storm... our prayers will go out, that all affected are safe! Sounds like some good cuddle time, my nerves would be on end with a bad storm like that, my weims relax me and they enjoy the time we are close as well. Zeik is really needy he loves being close, for as long as I am still he is too. |

Stay safe! Love and prayers from Nebraska...we have never ever been through a hurricane...the only form of nastiness here is tornado's...
Maybe stock up on some Kong toys, and freeze some treats in all you can so they have something to keep them occupied....lots of ice cube treats too..
Take care!

Yep I'm getting ready for Hanna too!! I'm in SC right outside of Charleston. Everything is put away, canned goods stocked up, gas containers all filled, generator ready, batteries bought, plenty of water (although this will just be a tropical storm so the city water shouldn't be affected). SHeets of plywood are ready to go up over my french doors to the deck.
I'm moving crates into the house tomorrow morning. With FIVE dogs here (one being a foster in rescue) I dont want the crates in any sooner than necessary. |

| It shouldn't be too bad here. Right now it's wind that gusts at 70mph and rain. They are saying the hurricane is moving so fast that we should only get the high wind gusts for a few hours. I think we'll be playing hide and seek with the dog treats or just spending the day in bed =) |

| Just stay safe, the dogs will probably pick up on the anxiety and not want to leave your side anyway so just snuggle with them on the couch. We keep a battery powered CD player and we play books on CD and music for relaxing. |
