Swollen Elbow

I just noticed that the back of Zane's left elbow is pretty swollen...almost the size of a golf ball! I am certain that it hasn't been there long at this size or I would have noticed it. It is not very hard and is a bit squishy. It feels like it has fluid in it and is not hot to the touch. He is not favoring it and does not seem to care if I touch it. I don't see anything that looks like a bug or spider bite on it either. There are bugs and spiders everywhere outside right now so that was my initial thought. He does not seem to have a fever either.

I just looked on line and saw some pretty scary things associated with swollen elbows but all of them say it would be hot to the touch and the dog would have a fever. Anyone else ever experience anything like this? If so, what was it? I think I'll wait a day or so and if I don't see it subside or if it gets worse I'll take him to the vet.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is he in a kennel during the day? If so, he might just be rubbing it against the kennel, if he lays in one direction?? Or another thought...maybe a bee sting??? Our Zane got stung last year on his hind leg it was really swollen, didn't bother him either...
