Wrench is getting his eye surgery finally on Tuesday! yeah!
We found a vet recommended by a neighbor who I trust to do the surgery and hopefully maybe be his vet afterwards too
His inner third eyelid is curled and has been since about a week after we got him, most of the time you couldn't see it at all unless maybe he had bad allergies or just went to the Beach, the past two weeks though have been really bad and most vets didn't want to take the time to do it unless we where also fixing him at the same time...or most suggested waiting until we fixed him but it's to the point of bothering him and we are worried about his eyes so we are getting it done and it really did take putting my foot down and saying " We are not fixing him right now but we want his eye fixed anyways now instead of later."
Finally a vet who would do it so....
Tuesday our baby has his first surgery...I am worried and anxious but also REALLY happy his eye will be all better!
Has anyone else gone through this at all? |

My dog Sadie had this. It's called entropian. Both of her eyes were affected by this. The shelter originally thought she was blind because her eyes were so bad. But after having her checked out by a vet they told me what it was. She had both eyes done when she was spayed. It took a little while for her to heal and the worst part was making sure she didn't rub her eyes and pull the stitches out. But she healed up very very very nicely. She was about 110% better and even acted like a puppy again at 3 yrs old! I recommend doing this completely. It makes a world of difference in their life. Good luch, Wrench. He'll be great. |

So, I was scouring my pictures to find a close up picture of Sadie's eyes before her surgery but I only had her about one month before we did the surgery. But here is a good picture of her eyes to show you that they do heal nicely. So there is nothing to worry about.

ok just got home...first off, my baby is doing good! I am so happy! He looks so much better and he's REALLY doped up so right now he's real calm and quiet and unsteady on his feet. Lord after a long day of working with Michael I am NOT complaining that I don't have to walk him tonight!
There is a bit of blood and will be for a couple of days...that is scary and we have to keep his medicine in about 3-4 times a day and not let him rub ( he only is right when he put it in right now) .
We can't let him get over heated and all because the stuff he had doesn't regulate his body temp?
I was so sad to leave him this morning, we all went together and Michael walked him back and kenneled him, when we picked him up at first he didn't want to talk to Michael! he's over that now though.
He just looks so sad and we are just laying with him and laying the love on ya know.
And guess what? We had a ton of recommendations for this one vet so we had gone to see her...we set up the surgery with her but she was really too busy to ake on another patient so asked us if we wouldn't mind her handing Wrench over to the other vet she has working in her practice....we said no that would be ok because at this point we wanted to get this done now.
The first main vet is nice but still the kind who kinda looks at me dumb....but not a bad vet at all.....
But the new vet who did the surgery is so nice!!! I love her! She is young and fresh and knows about weims and also gave me a ton of tips for his coat and allergies and so many things she told me and all I am just so happy! She is really super nice and seems to really Love Wrench right away so....we are sticking with her now I think! Yeah!
So anyways...good day over all.....my heart still breaks for my poor baby though...I am such a mom! hehe |
