oh my poor baby was spayed today, I hate this. She just threw up bile. The vet told me to wait 1 hour after she vomits to feed, and just feed her a little bit.

Aw, just give her lots of lovin'! I remember vividly about when Glacier was spayed...she wouldn't look at me for days (or maybe hours - not as vivid as I thought)! She chewed several pairs, well actually just one of each pair, of shoes and I didn't even scold her Sad - That was a long time ago, though!

Give her lots of hugs and kisses!

Thanks, she has an E collar on which I also hate. They told me I can take if off ONLY when I am watching her. Waiting for my husband to come home so I can take a nap. I took tomorrow off work too to baby her. I wish there was an easier way.... thanks again!

I remember when Silkie got spayed. It was awful. The vet gave us an E-collar that was too small and several days after the procedure she realized she could get to the incision. We didn't realize she could though until we saw it was red and raw.

She ended up on AB for two weeks and has a nasty scar now. Make sure your E collar is a 30". Anything smaller than that they will learn to manipulate if the injury/incision is in just the right spot. I know they are a pain but a necessary evil in some situations.

It will be over before you know it and she will be back to her old self. Smile

thanks, I was hoping you'd respond. It is a big collar she can not reach anything, I'm going to have to hand feed her. Hey I'm not a sports fan, but GO PHILLIES!

this is lola - she went in in the AM, came home around 5pm. looked like this until 5pm the next day or so.
no collar for either of mine - just a long weekend home, a watchful eye, and limited roaming.
didnt have a problem with either - except the stitch lola popped when jumping a baby gate. crazy puppies.

I am a vet tech at a clinic in town. It's so sad to see how miserable the little babes look after they are spayed. It can be rather painful! Just make sure she stays calm, clean and dry. As long as she does that, she is on the way to a quick recovery. As for you, just keep giving her that good ole weimy mommy lovin! Best of luck.

Thanks, and of course... re: the love. I took off work today just to keep and eye on her and to keep her company.

She seems to be ok. We take the collar off when we can REALLY watch her, but as soon as she starting licking the stitches it goes right back on. She's getting back to her old feisty self. Thanks for asking
