Hi everyone! Greta has developed a small sore on her tail. She is docked....quite short compared to most. She has been healed for weeks with small hair growth returning. The sore is on the tip and it's slightly boulbous looking. It's been bleeding a bit. I am using neosporin right now to help her. She is 15 weeks old and doesn't chew on it that much that I can tell. She has her check up at the vet next week but until then...is there any advice on things I can do to help her? I hate to see her little nubbin bleeding.
Thanks!!!

| If its not bleeding too bad, or looks infected, I wouldn't worry much about it. Tails take a beating sometimes, especially on the tip. |

| My Weim pup is currently 12 weeks and when she was about 9 weeks, she developed a sore on her stub. I spoke to the vet about it because it seems to be healing, then she plays with the other dogs or chews on it and its reopened. The vet said not to put anything on it to encourage chewing and to just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected. If that doesn't work, she suggested the dreaded victorian collar. I hope this helps. |
