How can a person know if a dog is in a silent heat? I have an appt. to get Daisee spayed Tuesday and just this morning noticed a tiny bit of white in her nether area. Anyone have help or input? Thank yoU!

White is probably not a silent heat, it sounds more like puppy vaginitis or just normal discharge. Isn't she only like around 6 mos old? It's doubtful that it's a silent heat, they are hard to recognize, which is why it's called a silent heat....

Yep...6 months. I thought it would be normal, but I didn't want to go ahead with a spay if there were indications of a heat (I know the silent part makes it hard, but I thought there might be things to look for anyway.) She's been basically normal in all ways, besides eating dirt, rocks, and grout. This is not new, though. Thanks for the response Anne!
