Should I crate train?

I have never crate trained in my life. Seems like it might be the way I should go since I will be leaving my weim by himself when I go to work.
What can I expect?
What's a good size cage?

Yes, it can be an invaluable tool.
However it needs to be taught gradually. Take a look at the obedience discussion and there are numerous threads about crate training.

Absolutely yes! Especially if you will be leaving him alone at times. I have the Titan size XL. What's nice about it is it comes with a divider panel and you can gradually adjust the size as your puppy grows and 2 doors. If you put them in there with it full sized they will use one side for pottying. I bought mine on eBay for $39.95 plus $30 shipping and it was a lot cheaper than the pet stores and arrived in a few days.

Yes you absolutely should crate train!

Remember, you can always let a crate trained dog have free run of the house, but it's invaluable when you need it.
Plus it helps with housebreaking.

There is a right way and a wrong way to crate train. I give my puppy people pretty detailed information and a pakcet on what to do. Your breeder should start most of that for you and encourage you to crate train. It is a snap when they are startd at the breeders.

PS - in the photo on the site, the door is not closed, I guess our floor is crooked. They happened to want to get snuggly together, they lvoe their crates!
