Anyone else heard of this? I bought my guys one today at the place they go to daycare. The trainer there has weims and swears by these.
So far, my dogs are doing VERY well on them. They put pressure under the arms as opposed to squeezing the chest, which is more uncomfortable and envokes a greater response to jumping and pulling.

uggg...yeah. I'm really worried about that since I really wanted to use them when we ran....I HOPE that won't be the case. I'm so sick of buying collars and harnasses Rolling Eyes

We have one for Mayu and we really like it for her (she wears a flat collar, too, but we can't use it for walking her).

We also found this harness: http://www.wiggleswagswhiskers.com/products/harnesses/keystone/index.htm

The picture shows the loop and ring at the back of the harness, and it also has a loop at the front like the Sensa-tion harness.

And it has "luxurious Swiss Velvet lined chest strap to inhibit chafing behind the front legs" Smile ... which does seem to be a little softer.

Wrigley has a harness like this that he got from our trainer in class and that is what he wears when we take walks. Recently I have noticed to patches on his chest where there is some hair loss and redness and it just occurred to me that it may be from the harness as it does pull to the side a bit when he is walking on the left of me (always) and he is pulls a bit. I will have to look at it and call my trainer but overall it has helped with his loose leash walk so much.

Yes I have used it for years and love it. I have an older one that was from my old dog (a big boy) and it is a little big on Wilson. Recently I bought a new one for Wil and it seems to chafe, I really like the style, but we went back to the older one as it doesn't seem to cause the chafing.

I will probably pull out the new one again and give it another try. We use it for running and it is great. We have a prong that i pull out if we are going to be in big social situations, but he has been so good lately we have been on the sense-sation harness most of the time.

The old one is purple though and Wilson and I don't feel it is that flattering against his pretty gold points.....which is the real reason we want to use the new one, it is a really cool looking black and silver combo and it really makes him look "hot".

I used to not be able to take our dog for a walk without either running half the walk or coming home with a sore arm. We got the sensation harness and immediately noticed a change! We have used it ever since. She has gotten used to it now but it still makes a huge difference. One day I thought I would take her for a quick walk around the block with just a leash and she pulled the whole time.

I would recommend a sensation harness!

What's the difference in the sensation harness and the easy walker harness? They look the same to me. And the problem we've experienced with the easy walker harness is that it irritates behind the front legs after a couple of uses.

have it.. with fleece lined arm pits.. it's the sporn one.. he pulls right thru it when he wants to pull.. like it's not even there..
i hope it works for you.
it slows hooch down, but when hooch is having a good day.. i can walk him on a flat buckle collar..
if he's got the ya ya's in him.. he'll pull thru anything so far..

i truly try not to get too excited, though.. since this is our only behavioral issue.. *knocks on wood*
i just keep at it.. every day.. 3-4x a day.
he's a strong sniffer, and an intact male.. in a new neighborhood.. gotta expect it.

I agree with this statement. Especially the part about strong sniffer. Once Georgia gets a scent she is like a mad girl! I think it's just in their nature.

We are using this as well. It does help the pulling a lot and it's actually a joy walking him. But we also noticed some hairloss on one side. Must be from the harness. We are gonna loosen it a bit and see what happens. But overall we are also very satisfied with it. Makes the walks more enjoyable.

i just saw that this hooks the lead in the front. although we have just gave in and got a prong, and have the armpit tightening sporn harness, what is another $30 when it comes to my baby? i ordered it.. we'll try it.. i'll laugh when i watch the $30 fly out the window..
oh hooch.. what gimmick your mama won't try..

A study at UC Davis showed that head halters are extremely bad for dogs. They put the dog's head at an unnatural angle and there is a high incidence of disc problems. I do not recommend any type of head halter such as the Halti or Gentle Leader. Weimaraners already have a high incidence of Wobblers in the breed!
