My sweet, baby boy would have been 16 on 12/27/09. We made the agonizing decision to end his struggle, and put him to rest today. Uncontrollable tears are streaming down my face as I type this. I feel so alone and the pain in my heart is unlike any other. I don’t know how I am supposed to live without him, after I’ve been loving him so long? How am I supposed to live without him – when all that I’ve been living for is gone?

Ruger was a once in a lifetime dog. I have never known the kind of love he gave. He taught me so many things - each and every day - about strength, love, and friendship.
I know life will never be the same without my beloved baby boy. He was my lifetime dog, my lifetime friend, and part of my soul.

Please say a prayer for us today….I can only hope that one day we will be reunited.

To Jake, Trudi, Sage, Cyrus and all our other dear departed ones, please welcome him and befriend him.

Rest in peace, my sweet baby boy….Mommy will forever love you.

OH! Lisa, I am s saddened reading about Ruger! Your stories have given me so much inspiration and hope for my old boy.
Your bond was so special and Ruger knew that! You will definitely be reunited because he will be with Jake, Cyrus, Trudi, Sage, Zane Grey, and all the others at the bridge waiting for you.

It's so hard to make the decision that you made...I had to do it last year & the tears still flow...I feel blessed that I had my boy for 14.5 years & it has to comfort you that you, too, are one of the lucky ones that had your boy for almost 16 years...that is a wonderful blessing. I too have tears as I read this. I'm so so sorry. I can't imagine the heartache you must be feeling. For him to have given you 16 wonderful years of love, joy and devotion, and for you to have returned that love and given him your heart, is a wonderful, beautiful thing.
