It looks like Marley has a rash in one if her ears. It is kinda red and she paws at it like it itches sometimes. Also, I think it smells funny (she gets lots of hugs, so I notice things like that).
She has been getting about a fourth of a cup of yogurt a day, and I know that is supposed to help keep her ears clean and they are, so I don't know what the rash is.
She is on antibiotics for a UTI. Could she have an allergy to them? She didn't have this before. The meds certainly aren't making it go away.
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
Thanks. |

I'd check with your vet.

She has to go to the vet this week anyway. Our old dog had over-the-counter ear medicine, but I'm not sure what was wrong with her since she wasn't my dog. I thought it might be good to get an idea of what is going on so I could discuss it with the vet and maybe avoid all the guessing games.

It could be several things. If she's on an antibiotic, my 1st thought is a yeast infection. Does she seem to be scratching at it? Mites are common, too.

I don't know where you are on on your puppy vax, but let the vet give her vaccinations until the UTI and ear problem has cleared up.
