Okay. So we got Maggie, our 8 week old Weim, last Saturday to add to our Weim family (Reagan, 11 mo old). The first few days Reagan was kinda indifferent towards her but not mean, just didn't really care much about her (unless Mags was getting more attention). After a few more days she was more interested and started playing with her.

Now...they are sooooo in love with each other! I woke up the other day from a nap we were all taking to find Reagan "cleaning" Maggie off...even her ears, just like a momma. They share toys, beds, bones, ect together too! It has been alot of fun and I can tell Reagan seems less stressed. I know it will be hard at times but for now...I am loving having two adorable dogs Smile

If your situation turns out like ours with Zoe and Lola... I dont think there was ever a bad day between them. They argued over stuff, but usually it just turned into another reason to play.
They should be best friends for life... and I wish them both a long and healthy life with you.

So...agaisnt the advice on this forum I put them in a (very large) crate together b/c I have to work in the office this whole week and Reagan isn't trustworthy by herself (previous mass destruction) and Maggie is still whiny in the crate. I went home for lunch...not a peep when I opened the garage door, not when I was going up the stairs (I admit I was scared by this point that something bad had happened) and when I opened the door there were my precious girls cuddled up together! Happy as can be Smile They were excited to see me but not crazy like Reagan used to be.

It is such a great feeling knowing they are safe in the crate but still so happy!! Of course...this may not last forever but for now...Whew!

Oh that is so awesome! I love it! We've threatened to put Charlotte in the Crate with Sophie, but I think I'd get in trouble since Charlotte is the human child.

I can't wait to see some photos of your lovebugs.

My kids will lock themselves in the crate with the dog, and I've had my kids and the daycare kids set up camp in there. Daisy doesn't mind (if she did at all, it's her home, I'd get THEM out), she just plays along when they crawl in there.

Well the crate is big enough for other people that is for sure!! On the first night Jarid and I laid in there to show them it was a "happy place" and to make it smell like us....we all 4 fit in there! I can see why kids want to get in there....it is like a fort!

Here is the link for petsmart. I think ours is the biggest one, the 48" it is nice b/c it has two doors...

I'm pretty sure that's the same one we have for Luna... it came with the divider panel for when she was tiny so we only had to buy one crate.

We only use the divider when Maggie is in there by herself. But it is a great size for them to be in there together! Who would have guessed!

Sophie is already outgrowing her crate, she can't really stretch out anymore. Yikes. Looks like I will have something to put up for freecycle soon Smile
