Misty went to the vet this morning for yearly injection & heartworm injection and a couple of hours later she's shuddering alot. Happen to anyone else?

| I only just read your post? How is your dog now? We had the same problem but our little girl is still not well and may never be. Just wanted to see if I could help if the problem is still present. By the way, I am in Sydney. |

| First, your vet should not have injected two different toxins at the same time, but now that it's been done and the dog is ill, you need to see a Homeopathic Vet as they are basically the only ones who are able to help negate the effects. Try some Bach Crab Apple in the meantime. All the best. |

She's fine now, but was really "off" for 24 hrs. Its the first time he has given the injections together and funny you mentioned that, cos its the only time shes reacted. Thanks for your thoughts. Please keep me posted on your girl in Sydney,

| Next year please make sure you give her any live vaccines separately in 2 week intervals. My poor little Heidi is on corticosteroids everyday after her vaccine reaction and I do not think I will ever vaccinate her again beside a parvo vaccine administered on its own. Your lucky your weim pulled through, Heidi did the first time but the second time caused HOD and immunodeficiency. Also you may want to google about annual vaccines, they say it is unnecessary to administer annually and every 3 years is sufficient. The vets would disagree as they just want your $. |

3 week intervals. 2 week intervals is probably the worst time to give another vaccine since the immune response happens at about 2 weeks. |

| I dont mean to seem ignorant, but what vaccinations do they HAVE to have to keep them healthy. I just do what the vet says, and it seems like we get shots constantly. So I can regulate the vaccinations that Carly gets? I thought the were all necessary. |

It also depends upon where you live. Some areas have a high incidence of Lyme disease and some have a high incidence of Lepto.
I give my dogs the Lepto vaccine because I hunt with them. We have also had incidences of Lepto here in the southeast. It can be a pretty deadly disease.
I'm also going to start giving them the Lyme vaccine since I travel with them and we were contacted about a rescue dog who has Lyme. |
