| a month ago i woke up to two female weims running arround in my yard and playing with my other dogs. they had collars without tags, and i expected they were lost and wouldnt be here long. well that was five weeks ago and i now have sixteen puppies! I live in a rural area and dumped off dogs are common place. I made some phone calls to local vets as well as the pound leaving my number as well as a description of the girls. No one has claimed them and i have worked very hard to take care of them hoping to find their owner, but without luck. I now am taking care of two litters of pups in hopes of finding good homes for them. I am not sure if they are full blood pups are not, this seems to be every prospective addoptive families question! The first nine are 2 1/2 weeks old and are very dark gray with small patches of white in their chest and some on their paws. The second litter of seven look alot like the older litter, but there are two silver, and the dark gray have almost no markings as do the first litter. whatever they are they are addorable! and their moms are wonderful as well. any feedback or comments would be appreciated! |

That's so bizarre that two pregnant weims would just show up on your property one day!
Thank you for taking care of them! I hope you can find good homes for them in the next 5 weeks or so.
I wonder if you can get help from a rescue? Unless you have the funds available, I think you're going to find caring for 16 puppies is going to get very expensive (not to mention exhausting) once they are weaned.
Did you get their tails docks and their dew claws removed?
Could you post some pictures? |

They're adorable!
They look like Weim / Lab to me.
Odd that both litters look identical. Same Dad maybe? |

I know it isn't much help, but I wanted to thank you for taking in those puppies and finding a good home for you. It is a huge undertaking that many people would not take. |

They are cute!
And definitely cross bred. You can't get black puppies if they were full bred as all Weims carry the dilute factor. |

| My first thought was black lab dad until I saw the silver and then the close up of the darker litter with the blue eyes!! Maybe a very dark blue weim dad?!? I don't know, I'm not a genetics expert by any means. Regardless, you're a wonderful person to do what you're doing, thank you. |

A lot of puppies and kittens are born with blue eyes; regardless of breed. Besides, we know they're at least half Weim, so it would be to be expected. |

thanks to all who have posted and all your kind words. I love
animals and can't just let hungry animals be left hungry! These dogs were found in our barn gorging on horse and cattle feed! Animals as well as other humans should not be neglected, its always right to do what you can. Thanks for your advice. |
