Well we just got back from taking Gretchen on her first campin trip. Everybody had a blast! First day at camp.
Then the next day we to to "Jeepfest". Lots of wheelin and walkin around. Hundreds of jeeps there and evrybody loved Gretchen and wanted to pet her. She was very well behaved so she got a blue snowcone
The next day we went had a picnic at a local state park. Gretchen relaxed. We tried to get her to swim. Didnt have much luck.
Then we went a did a little light hiking at another park.
Tired out by the end of the weekend

The first night she was too pretty to sit in the ground. we had to put a blanket down for her, but by day 3 she was so tired she was willing to lay in the dirt Heck there was a cat wandering around the campground she wanted to chase everytime she saw it. She was passed out and the cat walked right up to her. She didnt even pick up her head!!
But it was definitely great socialization for her. Shes come such a long long way since ive had her and this weekend showed it. She was exposed to a thousand strangers, noise and commotion, tons of dogs and new experiences and she loved every minute of it. Six or eight months ago she would have ran for the hills. Ive never been so proud of her
Just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks!!! |

No left the baby with my mom. Shes a little too young yet for tent campin. This was me and the wifes "alone" time this year and trust me we needed it!
The babys doin fine. We took her to the Drs yesterday and she got some shots  Mom and baby cried  . Shes growin like a weed. Shes up to almost 14lbs already
Good luck with your new arrival. You must be sooo exited! Hope all goes well. |
