Kaia's 4 months... She had her right eye swollen shut a few weeks ago but I ran some cold water on it and it went away the next day. Now the area around both of her eyes are slightly swollen, and she has tiny bumps on her head as well as thick, swollen ears... She's excessively scratching herself... Fleas? Allergies?? |

| It could be allergies, or a reaction to something she got into, or some sort of bug bite. I'd take her to the vet ASAP. |

| Since she is so young I wouldn't recommend trying anything at home. I too would take her in to the vet asap and they will have a better idea as to what is going on. If it is allergies they will probably give her something made for dogs to make her comfortable. I would also let her breeder know what is going on in case it happens to more than 1 dog from that litter |

| Fooky gets that at certain times of the year. It looks like he got into a fight and lost. his eyes swell shut, his whole face to include ears get bumps all over. he also gets them on his legs. the vet said it's allergies and we have to give him allergy pills and spray. my poor fooky. i was so scared when it first happened. he would get it from something outside. he would get really bad and then it would go away within a matter of hours, then it would come back. this happened for about a week and then it went away for good. hopefully it won't happen this year. |

My Heidi Bear came in with an eye swollen shut as you describe. We went to the vet right away. Turned out it was a wasp sting (in his opinion). A shot of steroid and some antihistamine tablets and Heidi was fine and dad could start to chill out.
I always worry about possible spider bites because they can start necrosis at the site of the bite which is really bad news. Be safe and go to the vet. |

Yes - I would recommend taking her to the vet right away...with facial swelling you risk her throat swelling as well. You just never know...hopefully the vet will just tell you to give her some benadryl, but you don't want to play around with that kind of swelling!
Best of luck, keep us updated! |

| Sounds like a reaction to some kind of sting or bite. Silkie got into a yellow jacket nest and she looked just like you describe. |
