Looking for a trainer.

I don't know if anyone can help me or not. My options are slim when looking for obedience classes to take Loki to. I have found a few places that have classes but they mostly work on specific tasks not general obedience. I do have a Petsmart in the area that I have been thinking about going to. I just don't know anything about their methods or views. Has anyone ever been to any of their classes or know anyone who has been? I am just trying to find out if it is worth going.

Is there anyone in the South Charleston, WV area that might know where I can go?

Gracie and I attended Petsmart training for puppy classes and intermediate classes. We had very good experiences there. The classes were helpful for learning basic commands and behaviors. In addition, it was a good place to introduce distractions while training because of the store environment. I do believe that a lot depends on the dog trainer though. We used the same dog trainer for both levels of classes and he was knowledgeable and approachable. He was always willing to answer questions as well. I'm not sure if we got lucky or if most of the trainers at Petsmart are as good at what they do. Good luck with your training!

Contact the Charleston Kennel Club. They will be able to point you in the right direction. You probably can find a contact for them at a vet's office since clients who show their dogs are probably members of the club.
