So lately my Wilson has been learning to play frisbee with the neighbors 12 year old border collie Bob. Yesterday they were playing and during a break I noticed Bob was laying funny, his backleg looked akward. When they went back to playing Bob went down crying and didn't get up. We ran over to him and he looked like he had an itch as he was chewing at his leg/butt area. By the time we got there he was still down, but very calm. I pinched his hind feet and initially he had no reaction. After a few minutes of letting him rest I pinched again and he started pulling away.
After about 5 minutes of rest we asked him to get up and he did. Of course being an obsessive border collie he wanted to continue playing, everything seemed fine.
I recommended that my neighbor keep a close eye on him, perhaps it was just a temporary pinched nerve? I was worried about a disc problem, but the dog seemed fine after a few minutes.
Does anyone have any thoughts? |
