so what is this one small doggy? Maybe we can keep it separate during the day in a large pen or something so you dont have to discriminate against pocketbook pups
Is there a deadline for registration or will you allow walk-ins? |

haha Im not sure what the small dog is but I think we may have some more registering too. Our press release goes out tomorrow...so I imagine if we get printed in some papers we will get some more pups. I really wish I would be home for a weekend so I could go to our local dog park and hand out flyers..our dog park gets SOOO crowded!!
I think we will get some more small dogs signing up. We have decided though that if people have a small and large dog and want to come to both sessions, or someone with a small dog wants to come to the large dog session that they can but the small dogs must be leashed during large dog session and large dogs leashed during small session. |

I'm planning to bring my three puppies! I'll be driving back to Maryland from a week in Vermont. This is on the way home! This sounds like an awesome fun time! Anyone else from Maryland planning to go?

Figured I should post these here:
Dog Days of September Rules
Dogs must be current on all vaccinations. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the facility.
For the safety of your dog and others, choke, prong, and spike collars are not permitted. If you use these types of collars please remove them before entering the off leash area.
If you are bringing small children please inform them of the appropriate manner in which to act around dogs. Children should not run (a dogs instinct is to chase), scream, pick up and wave around sticks, take toys from dogs, or approach animals that they do not know. ALL CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED VERY CLOSELY!!
Aggressive dogs are not permitted. Dogs will be asked to leave the premises at the first sign of aggression. This event should not be the first time your dog has been exposed to other dogs.
Female dogs in heat are prohibited.
Dog owners must be within view of their dog at all times. If you cannot control your dog off leash than please keep them leashed at all times.
Small dogs (under 30lbs) must be leashed during the large dog session and large dogs (over 30lbs) during the small dog session.
Owners are responsible for picking up after their dog and disposing of waste in designated receptacles.
No digging!!!
Only dogs will be allowed to swim in the pool due to health department regulations.
Due to the recent dog flu scare we are recommending that owners bring a water dish for their dogs and not share. We will have a hose available to fill up water bowls but will not be leaving out communal water bowls. We will also have cups available if needed.
Each dog owner is legally responsible for their own dog and Ironwood Outdoor Center will assume no responsibility for any injuries to humans or animals; therefore each owner is responsible for supervise his or her animal.
The rule about no people swimming has been a big question my many people registering. Unfortunately this a rule implemented by the health department and not us. We had to run the idea of having this event by them before my executive director would give us the OK and they said it would be ok but absolutely no people swimming with the dogs. The health dept. has a copy of our flyer about the event and they pop in at random times all throughout the summer. Also in all the research Ive been doing on other similar events that have been held in other states quite a few have eventually been shut down by the health dept so we really dont want to risk that and want to take absolutely all precautions to be able to host this event again next year.
We will allow people to stand in the toddler pool and assist dogs in the water that may not be familiar with the water.
Sadly its a little different when I host a "meet up" with a handful of dogs than when we are hosting an event like this in which I already have I think now close to 40 dogs RSVPed for the large dog session.
Any questions let me know |

ok roll call!! whos gonna be there:
I will be there all day. Grayce will be arriving for the large dog session with my parents. Since she thinks IRonwood is her home she WOULD NOT be happy during the small dog session being kept on leash.
As of last night we have 117 people RSVPed w/ 66 dogs!!! |
