In the last year I've lost three of my fur kids, my two oldest cats and my beloved Rocco. The pain I feel now is as great as the day I lost him. He was only 5 1/2 and was diagnosed with Mega-Esophagus. Because he needed to eat in a vertical position we built a "Bailey" chair which kept him upright and I fed him canned food blended to a gruel consistency and Ensure 4-5 times daily. Working at a shelter I was able to bring him to work with me and care for him. He lost 10 pounds in one week and we put 2 N-G tubes in but it was no use. He was so thirsty but couldn't drink without regurging. He was literally drowning in mucous. I know I did the right thing but that doesn't make it any easier. I am heartbroken
