So...I have spent the sumemr on the great job hunt...found and waited for a certain one for 2 months, began working and then was fired 1 1/2 weeks in just because I "wasn't getting it fast enough" and yet all I got to do was sit there and watch , my questions where outright ignored and when I asked to begin getting hads on several times they ignored me and then fired me...oh joy. Anyways ....
So I was buying Wrench's new food in Natural pawz new Sugar Land location and while paying for it I asked if they might be hiring...well..they hired me yesterday and I begin work Wednesday! Not only will I get to work in a really cool environment and be around dogs all day that come in ( you know...the VIP customers=) I will even get a discount of the food I was already buying there....money is money! haha
Wrench actually went with us yesterday so they got to meet him and the hours aren't too much so doens't take away much form him as well as they encorouge my own business ( my equestrian business) rather than discourage it or worry it will interfer.
The owners are super cool people too...a married couple with 2 labs and a cocker spaniel...there are two other locations in like Spring and Tomball I beleive.
So...it doesn't pay as much or give as many hours as the job I was fired from but in the long run...maybe it will be a million times better for us!
Wrench turns 7 months next week...can you beleive it?!
Also I have to call the vet today...his eye that he had surgery on had been doing perfectly fine then it began gooping up really bad and after awhile I decided it might be more than allergies so I am going to call today and maybe be taking him in.
His excersise is getting stretched out longer too and more...he gets typically a day at the dog park now every once in awhile...we are trying to get there about twice a week, and our morning and evening walks are a couple of miles long at least with on and off leash time....we run along the bayou's and in some fields and greet some horses along the way...play with other dogs sometimes and play fetch ( or keep away) we do training along the way and working on the heel with a choke chain now though we are now...I know I said no before....considering a prong collor because he is so big and strong and totally knows it! I only weigh 120 at most and he's already over 75 pounds or so ( we will be weighning him this weekend). He is also about 24 inches...I need to double check. I will post that for certain when I post a 7 months old update next week.
Otherwise even at the dog park he totally will follow commands and sit, stay, lay, here or come, etc. He is learning to do the agility stuff they have there ( climb and jump and run through the items they have).
He is so much the submissive dog though! But now when we do walk he is getting protective of me...which I don't mind too much when we are walking alone past some shady looking guys or anything but I do correct him and especially when he was scaring a poor little old Asian woman=)
He seems to already have more energy with the new food too , he eats it all where the old food he had begun taking all day to eat one bowl and he actually only needs to eat less now too in the amount. His poo's are also so far so good.
In 7 months he has eaten one rug, corners of his blanket, a couple of towels, two sets of blinds ( our fault he likes to be able to look out when we are gone) and his wrench squeeky toy and the ends of his rope toys and a now 2 liter soda bottles don't last long either. oh and then the carpet leading form the kitchen to the bedroom out of missing us when we where gone for a long period and let him have the run of the master bedroom and dining room./kitchen.
And gardens don't seem to last long=)
Otherwise he's really not so bad....we still have a couch so better than I had imagined after being on here!

Sounds like things worked out. OOh, Sugar land...I hear that's a nice place. I wanted to move down in the Houston area and that was one of the places I wanted to look at.
The girls use prong collars, it's like night and day when we walk. When we put the collars on them, they 'straighten' up. Minny's still a little stubborn. |

good luck with your new job - and great to see you have such a sense of humour about all the stuff wrench has "enjoyed" in your house!
so far we've made it with only holes in our clothes - one new dress wrecked, my husband's favourite sweater, oh ya another one of my sweaters... my daughter's new t-shirt. she eats her own blanket that we got from the thrift store which i don't mind...but when she goes after my expensive yoga shorts i freak out...but in my heart i know they're not gonna last long, LOL.
enjoy the new job and all the VIPs! |

Whats funny is the owners where like " we want someone passionate about animals" and I am like " umm.yeah thats me" I have always been aorund horses and have trained for years...always had dogs and when a kid had cats too and more....seriously...form bats to hawks to ferrets and more because I took in all wounded creatures=) Had a bull calf follow me home one day ( lived pretty much in the country but in Texas there are cows everywhere pretty much) and my dad see's me walking home with my dog and an angus calf behind me and is like " oh no...you are NOT keeping it!" haha
Then I was like " I am on a site called Weimaraner addicst.com...does that tell you anything?" hehe
Another funny thing...Sunday I woke Michael up by letting the dog jumo in bed and slimb him...so he thought it was funny to hold me down and let Wrnech come and slimb me! and let me tell you...dog slimb does actually pretty good for dreadlocks! haha joking...had to wash them=) But Wrench goes nuts if he can get my dreads! play toy! |
