so we just applied at the shelter for another Weim. we went to the dog park with our Molly, who is now just over 7 months and ran into a man who had been at the shelter earlier that morning. he mentioned that there was another weim there, about two who had just been brought in. We decided to go look at him on the way home. We had been tossing the idea of getting another dog back and forth but i truly didn't think it would happen for quite a while....

we went to see him, his name is Oliver and is said to be about 4, but is pretty small and actually looks like he is more likely to be 2 years old. He is very sweet, small in stature and pretty calm. He wasn't jumping of fussing in his cage and went back calmly after we walked him. They said he was surrendered a few days ago due to separation anxiety. But he wasn't crated and was tearing things up and is not house trained...which leads me to believe that he spent lots of time tied up outside...but of course i do not know for sure.

We still need to go through the phone interview process but they said our application would go to the top since we already have a weim. Oh he is such a sweet heart. our only issue is space for another crate.... do they make bunk bed crates hahaha

we are pretty excited. i think it'll be nice for molly to have a companion..i just hope it works out ok and we are not taking on too much.

HAHA, I just filled out adoption papers too. I will hopefully hear back sometime today or tomorrow (thanks a bunch Wrences). I am trying for a mixed weimy puppy and I have some of the same worries you have.

Hopefully they will let Derek pick his new brother.

Good Luck To you both... It took us about 1 1/2 weeks to get our Jasmine, that is from the time of our first call till she was home with us.

We adopted from Louisville Weim Rescue, They are just an awesome organization, is why I think our process went so smooth & Fast...

I just wanted to thank all of your for going through rescue to get your new family members. That is great! I hope that you both get the pups you have applied for.

Thanks for the kind words about LWR as well. Denise and Jackie are amazing at what they do and do an awesome job placing the dogs in the right homes for them. Smile
