I'm so excited faye gos fo her first leg of her FDJ test Aug 26th. We have a full week of dog shows at the National Weimarnaer Specialty in Long Sault, ON than after the specialty they have a field test. This is Faye's first time gong for her field dog junior and we are so excited. she is dynamite in the field and already has her novice shooting dog title in the US. She is a natural in the field. my husband goes pheasant hunting every fall and she is his sidekick. i don't think he could do it without her!!! It's amazing to see how much fun they have in the field and just how amazing this dog is as a hunting breed. faye is all natural we really don' train her we have just worked with what instincts she naturally has.

We will keep you posted!! If she passes she will go for her next 2 legs sept 20 & 21st in Grandvalley,ON

For those of you tha don't know they have to pass the field test 3 times to get their new title

That's awesome, go Faye!

I really wish I could go to the Weim Specialty! The whole Stonepoint gang's gonna be there (well not all of them, we're dog-sitting Shooter for them while they're gone). Sounds like it's gonna be a blast!

Thanks!!!!! We are super excited. We have been waiting a year for this test. She should do well as she is an amazing hunter with dad and that is pretty much all that the test is. I just hope when the time comes we get lucky and she produces a great hunting/show/versatile puppy just like she is. We have been very lucky and our first show weim has turned out to be multi talented

Best of luck to Faye and her Dad! I hope you all have fun at the show!

I wish I could make the show but I'll be out of town. I guess there is always next year!

Weimwayz, is there a good site that lists upcoming FD tests. It's defiantly, something we'll consider. I haven't even found a good site outlining the ckc tests themselves but I might be looking in all the wrong places.

Thanks !!!! We hope she does well. she has been great in training but she has been known to bomb before, haha!

Are you a member of CKC????? we are and every month we get a Dogs in Canada magazine and the official CKC section. In the offical section it outlines all the upcoming shows, obeidence, rally and hunt studff. You can also go onto the website www.ckc.ca and search for upcoming events but I'm not sure if you have to be a member to get to tht section???? membership is reasonable I think about $80 a year. Aslo when your a member you can open all the rules for each test you participate in. So lastnight we were reveiwing what objectives he must pass for her FDJ. We both think she can do it. the next test is not until Sept 20 & 21st in Grandvalley, ON. i can get you the info if you wish. The nest one after is again in Grandvalley at the end of Oct than that is it till next year. We missed out last year because I had to work, blah!

If Marvin can pass the NAVHDA he will do just fine for his FDJ but they have to pass 3 times to get their title. We will keep you posted. Let me know if I can e-mail you anything!!!

Ah, that's how they hide the info. No, I'm not a CKC member yet. I just joined WAC hoping to get more weimy information but it looks like I should join CKC too. I already get Dogs in Canada but their listings alone look very incomplete. I don't know what the test entails so I'm not sure if we'd be ready for this year but it might be nice to check it out (if you can watch). Thanks for the info!

As of Jan 1 2009 I will be taking on the role of Ontario director for the WAC so I would lOVE to hear you thoughts and ideas as to what you would like to see in our club and what we can do to make it better and get the members involved more. It has beenlacking for so long and I hope to bring some fresh new ideas to the club!!!!!
