My Weim and I recently moved from Missouri to southern Texas. He's taken the movie suprisingly well, doesn't seem upset at all; He has however picked up some strange tendencies. He seems to scratch himself a lot more now, as well as clean himself a lot more than he used to. This may be unrelated but I've noticed what seems like a calcium deposit or something on his side. The bump doesn't cause him any discomfort, in fact he doesn't even seem to notice it. I can move it around a little bit and it's firm but not real hard. If anyone can shed some light on these issues I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! |

Welcome!
Could he be allergic to something in your new house? Have you changed foods too? Personally, I'd get the bump checked out since I don't like to mess with that sort of thing but has he been vaccinated there lately? |

Welcome, I think it being South Texas, I would say it could be allergies why he is cleaning his self more. I would get the lump checked out also just to be on the safe side.

Well, other then being tested by a doggy dermatologists I'm not sure how. What they did for us was we had to take our girl off all foods except for a special food that we purchased at the vet to see if she had food allergies. When we saw that she did not, we were referred to a dermatologists and she was allergy tested. Benadryl helps a lot. You can give a .25 mg pill per 25lbs I think to your dog.
Hope this helps some. |

Where in Texas? I am in Houston near Clear Lake.
Wrench has horrible allergies form grass and they are worse when our neighborhood mowes and such also when they fertilize and he plays or walks in the grass on walks. Also lots of bugs, misquitoes and flies are real bad too. As for the bump..any pictures? But I would have it checked out by our vet...as well as allergies and best way to treat him in such a new palce to be honest. How old is he?
