The blue weim forum has only moved locations and changed the look. other than that, it's the same. It's still a public forum for anyone to join and talk about blues.

There is a special section dedicated for BWCA discussion and news. This section is VERY public where you don't have to be a member of the forum to post, but we still encourage forum members to log in to post. The reason we did this is to encourage those having questions about the BWCA to be free to ask without having to be a forum member. Once we begin having paid Club members, there will be another section for Club Members only.

You can currently subscribe to any of these sections to receive emails when someone posts.

After the letter to the WCA Board of directors was sent out last month (see above posts), we have been informed that we can submit a petition to the WCA for an official vote.

The petition is ready and available! This petition needs to be signed by WCA members in good standing. BWCA encourages those WCA members who support the cause to sign this petition. We need 250 signatures in order for the WCA to put this request to an official vote. We encourage you to take the petition to places where other WCA members may frequent and solicit their signature.

IMPORTANT You need not be a WCA member to collect signatures of WCA members. So you can still help gather signatures!

You can download it from the main website www.bwcoa.com or click on the following links:

Petition only - http://www.bwcoa.com/documents/Petition.doc

Petition + the above letters - http://www.bwcoa.com/documents/petition+letters.pdf

So, say I am not a WCA member, but I am a member of our local weim club who happens to be going to a meeting on the 22nd - I should print this and bring it along?

Most definitely! More than likely there are WCA members within your local club. Hopefully this topic will come up on the local club levels and be discussed. Perhaps as "what's happening in the National Club" type of thing. Even if it doesn't come up, YES, bring your petition and see if you can get anyone to sign. Remember, they must be WCA members.

Warning to all who want to help gather signatures... you need to have a bit of a thick skin becuase there will be people who HATE the blue Weimaraner and NO NOT support this issue and will make themselves heard and won't be very nice about it. If you can ignore them, that is always the best bet. You're never going to change their minds and it will only make you feel bad after having to argue your point and still get no where.

Our goal is to reach those who DO support our cause and get them to sign and for those who are indifferent, to try to inform them of the issue and hope they end up supporting us and signing.

I am always careful to try NOT to pursuade people but to encourage them to get informed and make their own decisions. Otherwise, I am no better than those blue haters who try to pursuade them to oppose the issue.

Good luck!

P.S. there is nothing to say you can't BECOME a WCA member Wink

Great! That's two local clubs. If just 25 people can get ten signatures, we're GOOD!!

And thank YOU all for your support! Keep it up everyone!

That would require both a sponsor, and extra money Wink

Actually, I think the rescue coordinator for our club may be able to sponsor me... and the membership for the year apparently can be pro-rated. I'll keep ya posted! Very Happy

If its something you want to do in order to sign the petition, I'd do it right away so you can be included in the applicant listing in the next publication of the Weim Magazine. You have to wait 30 days after the mailing of the magazine for people to be able to protest your membership before you're an actual member. This ensures that they aren't letting in some whacko puppy mill or something.

I personally became a member earlier this year because I wanted to be sure that if a vote ever came to be, that I would be able to vote on it. Who new that I would be the one spearheading it!

Just wanted to say thank you for the putting the blue weimaraner site together. When I got mine from rescue I had no idea of the history and always though it was a fault because of health issues. I tried to do research but there wasn't much out there. Until now! Thank you so much.

Hopefully, those WCA members that support our cause will write the the Board. I have already heard from the anti-blue folks that they plan to campaign against us.
