Yoko had a UTI a few weeks ago. Good news, its now clear but she has urine crystals. So we are supposed to give her vitamin c for a week then check her pee again. The vet mentioned it may be diet related.
Anyone go through pee crystals before? Did you end up changing food?
And on a side note, today from the land of crazy puppy adventures...she discovered that she loves rolling in raccoon poo! Thank goodness its warm out so we could hose her off outside.

| Years and years and years ago, a dog of ours had the same thing. And if I remember correctly, it was because her diet at the time was too high in protein. Can't remember what she was on or what we switched her to, but she never had any more issues with that. |

I had a Yorkie with them and we got it down to some combo of calcium, magnesium or phosphorus levels in his food, not drinking enough and possibly not enough exercise as he was a lazy little dog who would just lay down if you put a leash on him. We changed his diet and forced him to go on walks which resolved the problem. I have also heard the link to protein.
I hope you get it cleared up soon!! Be well, Yoko! |
