Hi everyone -
We are looking to start taking obedience classes for our 4 month old puppy asap, in Toronto (central preferably).
She's doing really well with her bathroom breaks, sits most of the time when we tell her... fetches... but we need help with the leash pulling and with her jumping up on the kids.
Does anyone have a recommendation of a good puppy class in Toronto? I would love a class that allowed the whole family to attend so the kids could learn to train Yoko too. Or is that unheard of? Is it better to just have one adult at the class?
I would prefer a class where Yoko will be around other puppies versus having in home training.
I have read Cis Frankel's "Urban Dog" book and really like her style of training.

I have heard Who's walking who is good (www.whoswalkingwho.net) but I haven't used them myself.

Facilities should allow your family to watch. I would suggest calling places you are interested and ask if you can come and observe a class. Also ask what their training methodologies and styles are. Let them know what you need.

Well so much for all my researching...my husband went and signed us up at petsmart starting tomorrow. I'm actually happy about it because we have the same trainer as our piano teacher just had and she said he was great. Also the fact that we start tomorrow versus mid September like many other classes, is a big factor. The trainer has us coming one hour early tomorrow on our own because all the other puppies started a week ago...so we get a private lesson first. Let's hope it goes well!
