I just switched Koa to orijen! and the last two weeks have been great, Koa skin looks better and coat and his poop is finally solid all the time! It is alittle more than wellness, which I used to feed Koa, but he loves it! Oh I would try the wellness core but no one sells it around sacramento that I can find!

I'm thinking about switching to the Wellness ocean, but I'm hoping to keep her somewhere around 4-5cups/day, which is what she's getting now with the canidae.
Input, anyone? |
She currently eats 3 cups of Canidae for a total of about 1400 calories daily, so how many ever cups of Wellness Core = 1400 calories?
I can't remember how many calories the bag said... Luna weighed 59.5# at the vet when we went in Friday for her ear infections, and I was told that she was perfect (I already knew that LOL)... So I want to stick with our current intake. |

We are at 1/2 and 1/2 with grain-free and I notice much less eye boogies! I can't wait until the bag of Canidae is gone so we can be off it completely!
And, BTW, she is LOVING the RMB's! She's getting them about 3x's a week and I notice a difference in her teeth already. All the loose gunky brown stuff is gone, now we need to get rid of the crusty stuff and we're good to go !!! |

What kind of bones are you giving her?
We're 100% CORE now and Luna's tolerating it very well, I'm so pleased! It's only been about a week though, still in the 'to be continued' phase of things. But as long as her tummy is OK I see no reason to switch at this point! |

Reeeaaally... I wonder what Luna would think of that! Do you just rinse them straight out of the package, or do you dip them in boiling water first?
Not sure if I would want to try it with a foster around though... With Luna and Sabriel I'm having enough trouble with them scuffling on occasion... |

From package to bowl ! I try to have as little contact with it as possible and besides, it's raw chicken!!!! How much grosser can it get?!?!?! Then I make Darby go outside for awhile while I sterilize my kitchen from top to bottom. God, I could never do it twice a day, all I'd be doing is cleaning my kitchen !!!
At first, I thought I was going to be sick - just thinking about my baby eating raw chicken. But once she started crunching, I was in AWE!!! It's quite impressive, IMO!!! |

| Blue/Blue Buffalo looked pretty good. If you mean by grain free--you mean wheat free. All of the line is without wheat. I think there's a potato diet with some kind of meat. You can look it up on petsmart....it actually lists all the ingredients involved. Um, Nuturo Natural Choice also seems good. Cloud is allergic to wheat and seems to take it a lot better and it smells good. |

Part feeds Cloud the raw chicken diet too on occasion. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I don't know what kind of risks are involved--outside of us humans getting something if we forget to wash something.
I read some sites and all of them conflict. The initial "study" that the Australian Vet ran....wasn't perfect, in that it was just an observation with no real backgrounds on the dogs.
Eh, at any rate, not really keen on touching raw chicken anymore than I have to and have to worry about the dog for a few minutes after licking me. |

Lol, true. Still have to clean it and cut the fat off when you cook it for yourself. Well, I do. It's something my mom instilled in me. Gotta clean all the raw meats. |

Funny thing, I'm a vegetarian ! These words "cut the fat off when you cook it for yourself" are exactly why I don't eat meat . |

Lol, I am ...or rather I might as well be. If only I could cook more Indian foods and I totally would be! I rarely cook meat in the house. Just touching them kind of grosses me out.
Good thing Part feeds Cloud the raw stuff for most of the time. |
