| so we took our newly adopted girl for an allover wellness exam and she seems in good health and is up to date on vaccines. There is one thing the vet was a little concerned about. The 3rd eyelid in her left eye is bigger then the other and looks a little red. He asked me if she's had corrective surgery recently which she hasn't, at least not that we know of. The guy that we got her from is conveniently m.i.a. which makes me think he just wanted her out and doesn't want to deal with it. Some people are just horrid. She also sheds a lot which is strange to me cause Icarus' shedding is non-existent. I think her previous owner maybe gave her cheapo food. Have any suggestions why she'd be shedding so much? |

crappy food is most usually the culprit for bad skin/ shedding... try adding salmon oil or fish oil caps into her feeds.
Did the vet think entropian for her eyelid? I know that's completely treatable.
It is unfortunate when you rescue you never get the real story. I know... we have 2 and I spoke w/ Blue's owner at legnth after adopting him. NOTHING she said was true!
We met June's WHOLE FAMILY! I still suspect we'll never know the real story behind her bad skin and coat....it was told that the oldest kid dyed her fur once... maybe that burnt it off?!
Good luck w/ Mindy and thankyou for rescuing a Weim! |
