One year ago today we lost our beloved Simon. Simon was a Pit Bull/Smooth Coated Collie Mix and he was one of the best dogs we have ever known.
We saved him from a local shelter after he had passed the euthanization date, because the shelter manager thought he was a nice dog. Simon was the coolest, laid back dog. He loved riding on the 4 wheeler, he loved going for car rides and trips. He got along with everyone he met and was always happiest to just chill out and watch.
8 Months after we adopted Simon, Nena came into our household and they became best friends. He put up with constant abuse from her as she was still so much a pup and always made her think she was in charge. Simon was a Certified Therapy Dog, had his Canine Good Citizen and was working in Novice Obedience in the UKC as he was registered with the Mixed Breed Association.
Even though its been a year, we still miss him very much. He was only 4.5 years old.
RIP Simon
This video is just a little tribute to our boy.

I, too, have an older browser and couldn't watch
An anniversary is a hard day... I ususally try to remember the LIFE and not the passing. Like HoochMamas said, try to do something fun... maybe an activity that Simon loved? He'll be watching from the bridge.
the candle will be lit in Simon's memory today.
RIP, dear boy! |

I will have to watch from home. I can't see it here.
I am so sorry you lost Simon so young. It doesn't seem fair. I hope they are all at the bridge playing together... |

I can't watch the video.
Not computer-related, but because I will start bawling.
I hope you can get thru the anniversary day remembering all the happy times, because that's really what it's all about.
Godspeed little Simon |

Karen, I'm so sorry about your loss. Even after a year it still hurts. Just keep in mind was an amazing dog your Simon was. I'm sure he's playing with the other greats who have passed.
I also couldn't see the vid, my computer hates me. |

Karen,
I just watched the tribute to Simon and am crying like a baby. He was so cute. You could see in his eyes how special he was.
I am so sorry you lost him so young.
God Speed, Sweet Simon |

dear simon, i know you are having fun with your friends!
this year, i was traveling on ziggy's anniversary. i had taken some flowers from our garden, where she spent so much time with me. when i arrived in europe, first thing i did was put up her picture and put the flowers in a vase.
the fading sunlight hit her photo and it looked like she was bathed in light.
our dogs are always with us.... |
