Do you have air conditioning? I know cold, dry AC makes MY skin really dry and itchy . . .

Silly question, but is his collar too tight? When we tried using a leather choke Rosie would get the worst dandruff...it went away after we stopped using it.

Choke chains will make it very noticeable. So will stress! One of my dogs hates the vet and she always has a snowstorm going by the time we're done!

I know what you're talking about tho, and I think it's different from dry skin or food issues.

To find the right remedy, you have to know the cause.

First thing to look at is food.

If you mist him down 1x a week with distilled water (can be bought at any drug store) and is very inexpensive, this will help significantly..this will also help tremendously with allergies that humans have with the dogs dander....

Hope this helps... Laughing

I know our weims sometimes get dry skin in the winter when the furnace is on and than in the summer when the air conditioner is on. In the winter we always turn up or humidifier but it doesn't always work. So I found a great moisturizing spray called Hydrapearls or Aven sativa spray (I get mine from my vet) and I use it once or twice weekly and they are perfect this year. it also smells really good and they don't get that doggie smell. We also switched to using an Aloe & oatmeal shampoo. We usually bath ours every 2-3 weeks and founds it works well.

I noticed flakes on Jazmin when I shampoo her more than 2x a month. Now I just rinse her with water only one week, shampoo next, water rinse again etc. Could you be shampooing your dog too often?
