I'm obviously partial to blues! I can't go anywhere (even walking down my street and going places in the car) without someone saying how beautiful Jude's coat is. Weimaraners are all about personality more than anything though. I wouldn't say Jude is more stubborn than some of the weimaraners I've met, he's just himself and that's what makes me love him!
I really wasn't aware that being a blue was a "flaw" in showing. I've thought about showing Jude just because of the fact I get so many compliments that he is so beautiful and even a "perfect picture of the breed." But then again, what weim isn't? |

Just wanted to tell Anne thanks for speaking for the Blues!!! I hate when people call them mutants or flaws. So silly.

| Have you thought a bout a passport for your pet, in the UK you can get one but that's to take your pet out and in without having to put him in quarantine for 6 mouths. I would asked your vet they should know. |

| We are not breeders or professionals by any means, but three of our Weimers are Blue and wouldn't have them any other way. Our Silver is a little more stubborn if anything, but all lovers! |

Also I have seen awful backyard breeders who have tried to breed a long-hair blue weim (don't know why) and the result came into a rescue and it looked more like a beast than a Weimaraner. The Blue Weimaraner comes from a genetic flaw so I would take that into consideration that with a Blue comes some other characteristics that are not true of the silver/gray Weimaraner. |
you have opened a very, very bad can of worms with your thoughts...I have a blue and his temperment is wonderful, he is not stubborn at all and is very loyal. You really need to read everything you can and also talk with blue breeders, and people who actually own and have them as a part of their family before going and putting out that kind of information.
We just lost our silver boy and both our boys had the same tempermant. We then found out that they were also related once our AKC papers were compared with our boys.
So please, please research and talk to people who own and breed the blues before being so judgemental towards them.

| Thanks for setting the record straight for our blues once again Anne! I must add also that between Duke (silver/gray) and Gracie (blue) I would have to say that Duke is the more stubborn one. Gracie really wants to please me and is probably a faster learner than Duke because of this. He is obedient and does things if he has to-not because he wants to please me. |

I know an American lady who moved from NC to Melbourne a few months ago and her Blue Weim is now there too - quarantine is only one month, she'll be free in a week.
An ex neighbour of mine imported her dog to UK from Canada and quarantine was only a week. |
