They seem to be pushing the "you must have weims" issue. I do, so what's the problem?!? I can bring in pictures, and they can call the vet.

Problem solved.

I will do that tomorrow, thanks for the advice.

...and my vet would give an amazing reference! I am watching Samantha for the week, and I told the family that they needed to call our vet (as we use the same one) and give them a written letter stating this.

The vet's response.. "Oh, Brittany! No problem, we know her, she's great!" I love the fact that they said that, but also... I go there waaaay too much.

Amy - wondering if I could use you as another reference. Can you pm me your details if this ok??

I walked out tonight and turned to Joey and said, "THEY HAVE TO COME OUT OF THERE!"

Take that feeling, stretch it over NINE MONTHS, and you've got me when I was waiting for Slade.

I TOTALLY know where you are right now. LOL

...The waiting sucks, but the not knowing what will happen or who will get them. I am offering to take BOTH! She said that they would get split up if they went to a non weim person.

Since they should stay together, they have such a connection.. Shouldn'tI get them already!?!?

Deep breaths... Going to bed now. Need... sleep.

I've been silently following this along. I really hope you get them. I agree with Amy, to keep bugging them about the status on your app and ask if there is anything else you can give them to help it along. I'd keep reminding them that you have weims and you have a good idea of how they will be once you bring them home (okay, kind of). Good luck!

Definitely stay on them!!!! That's what I should've done with "Odis", but instead I tried being patient and he got adopted out (then returned because he was older than they thought Mad ) and THEN they decided to get in touch with me again - but at that point we already fell in love with Darby.

STAY ON THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think its a great idea for you to show up with your references and constantly contact them and remind them that you would like BOTH and that you already have weims are and are familiar. Put together your "weim resume" and drop it off haha.

Just call and call until you get an answer. Show you really are committed to keeping them together and you know what youre talking about and hopefully they will have no choice.

Id also say every time you call or stop by the first thing you mention and make sure they know is that you HAVE WEIMS...since Im sure they are getting tons of calls @ them...make sure they know you and your experience.

Good luck! I really hope you get them out of that place!

Evil or Very Mad Mad Crying or Very sad

Infuriated, frustrated, and heart broken...

I called on my way home from the gym a few minutes ago. I asked on my status and whether or not they've made a decision. I was told by 'Sara' that they think they have the families they are going to give each dog to. Yes, they are being split up. But, she said that I am a back up. I'm not sure if a backup is the backup... or if there are many.

I reiterated that I do have weims, and have loads of experience, and that they would have a great home with me. She said that I am being considered, and she will talk to her supervisor and let me know a little more.

I am so frustrated with this place. This must be why they have so many poor dogs. I understand they only want the best, but I feel like I have to jump through hoops of fire to prove myself, when I am exactly what they had been asking for!

They made it evident that they only wanted weim owners, it's on the website. It's even posted on their cage with a bright green flyer!

I am so confused. So upset. I knew I was getting my hopes up. As long as they are going to a great home, then fine. But why would they go out of their way to insist a weim home, then not follow through on their word. My two are crated (if at all) no more than 3 hours a day. They get plently of exercise, discipline and love. They have the best diet, the best care... etc.

I get upset with them also because they have an option asking why you are adopting this animal, and it says 'family pet'. No, I don't have any 'pets'. I have two furry family members, not pets. They get treated equally to all my family, if not better. My dogs are my world. No other thing can make me smile as they do each and every day. I wanted to make sure a few others were insured of a great life ahead of them too. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

Sorry for ranting - I just want to scream! I am so disappointed with the spca. I don't think I'll ever go back if this doesn't work out. Just be consistent with your expectations for the dogs. Don't say ' this is what we want ' then get it, and make it seem like it never mattered.

If another weim comes up needing an immediate home, please keep me in mind. I'll travel a reasonable distance too...

Sorry for the let down. Hopefully, they can come around and see that I am what is best for these two. And, that they could stay together.

Maybe if we all pray really, really hard.... Wink

I am going to love my two just a little more (if that's possible). I truly appreciated all that they do to make me a better person, and make me giggle each day.I have found so much joy in my life since owning a weim. I love all dogs, really. But, after owning a weim, I just would never own anything else. Something about the cute little suckers...

Thanks ladies for the moral support and hanging in there with me the past few days...

Oh, that sucks SO bad. I have the same feeling about the spca - extreme disappointment.
