So you bathe him at the lake? That's a great idea!
When we camp, my dad, brother, Ronnie and I bathe in the lake. My mom hates it and thinks we're strange. Does anyone else do this, or am I a weirdo? |

Jacks a bit of both.
He goes weekly to the groomer for his nails as I have yet to master that art LOL
And for bathing ~ when he's REALLY bad, I take him to the groomers, otherwise I just bathe him at home in the bathtub. We have the removable shower head so he loves it. LOL We turn it on "massage", lather him up and rinse him off.
Inbetween all that ~ we use these waterless/showerless cleansing cloths for dogs... they almost remind me of "handy wipes" ~ its a quick "stink b gone" lol and minor dirt remover |

I prefer a real shower but I have taken a bath in the lake on occasion. The group of dead heads I camp with take 1 bath in the lake the whole week we camp. I can't stand to be dirty that long. |

Ew! Yeah...I could never go more than 1 day not bathing, even that's difficult to do. When we go to the lake we're in there almost everyday, unless it rains all day which is usually half the time we're there, so it make it really convenient. I have given up on taking showers at the bath house where we go. It used to be nice there but now it's gotten so popular that you have to sit down there for an hour before you can get in. |

Both Thor and Slade go in the tub. Unless it's really nice and hot out, then outside with the hose.
But they rarely need it, since I keep a container of baby wipes by the door because they get their toes wiped each and every time they come in the house (anal, I know, but I have a big-*bum* house full of hardwood, and it's easier to baby-wipe their feet every time they come in, than mopping my floors every other day). If they're ever especially grubby after playing outside, they get a full-body wipe-down with the baby wipes, instead of just their feet. It makes the need for full-out baths minimal.
PLUS, they have a wading pool in the back yard that they chase each other in and out of when they get the zoomies, so that helps too. |

I hear that. At the place we normally go it's pointless to try in the morning around the holidays so I usually go in the afternoon after I've played in the lake and gone hiking. It doesn't last too long but at least I can say I was clean at one point that day. |

Mine don't get bathed, nor do they smell bad.
First dog I bathed after a year, she hated it so I didn't repeat it. She did sometimes roll instinky stuff so I'd wash the stinky bit.
Second dog was bathed on arrival as she stank having been in kennels for months - NEVER AGAIN! Paw marks 4 feet up the walls! She smelt fine for the next 3 years.
This one hasn't been bathed in 2 1/2 years, not planning to either. She smells lovely.
Rain does a good job followed by a towel down. |

Hemi gets bathed a little more frequent. His coat is rough and wirey. Does anyone else have a weim like that..? His fur on his back is not typical 'weim smooth'.
Chevy is so soft, and rarely stinks, but she's a roller... |
