Oooh I am sooo excited for you. I hope you get them. Eh, 4 isn't that bad if you already have a routine in place. You know how to be alpha and you have that schedule. You'll just be exhausted at the end of the day. Hopefully so will they! Good luck!!! |

Lynn, I have so much to ask you!
The pics are great, thanks so much guys!
Amy, I did go tonight. I am NOT impressed with the staff, yet again. No wonder they have so many animals in there. They were rude.
I got there with Joey around 6:20. As directed went I went on Sunday, I went to the front desk and asked to see them. Astro was being taken for a meet and greet with another dog..? I guess from another family maybe? (I did over hear the volunteers say it didn't go well).
I went back, stood by the cage and stuck my nose in. I got LOTS of kisses from Abbie, I melted. . I stood there, and continued to stand there are five volunteers walked by, never once looking at me, as I was staring them down. Not one word. I'd think if I saw someone standing outside of ONE cage for half an hour, I'd ask them if they were interested...!
So, it was 6:50, and they were moving them to a different cage. I walked over and said "Um, are they not allowed to been seen today?" She said no and asked me if I wanted to see them. But, it had to be quick as they closed in 10 minutes. Yeah... my blood was boiling. I told her that I had been standing there for half an hour as they walked by me again and again. Then she said I had to grab her personally. Well, this was not what I was told before. The lady up front told me to stand there, and they would be right there, as she was paging them.
She was opening the cage, and she suddenly blurted "Well, they are weimaraners. (Inside I was screaming. No, really.. are they blue dobermans!?!?) "They are a lot of work. Do you know anything about them?"
In a smug voice, I said, "I hope so, I have two already".
I got to see them for a few minutes, and fell in love ALL over again. I hope it all works out. I just love them. It's funny just how similar Chevy and Abbie are. Their mannerisms are identical. I balled yet again when I left. That place is so depressing. They just look so sad being cooped up. Weims need to RUN, and be cuddled .
I hope I didn't screw up my chances... I was livid. Some people. They just weren't friendly. Far from me to complain about these volunteers, as they are giving a wonderful gift to these animals. However, they need to please people as well. As, we are the ones who will be taking these animals.
end rant... Wait, one more. I forgot my camera too!
AmyB - Maybe you could put in a good word... |

Wow, I'm sorry you had such a crappy visit.
I would stay on top of them to let them know how serious you are about adopting them. Try calling the rescue coordinator tomorrow to see if you can get a status on your application. Unfortunately I don't know anyone that works there. If I did I would go down there for you. |
