|
|
Hello guys,
Zeke has had me up all night with diarrhea and he even vomited once. This happened once before ~1 month ago when he got his second vaccine. He received the third (and final of the series) vaccine on Friday and last night he woke me up at 2am with incessant barking because he had soiled his crate.
Have you guys experienced anything like this? Is this a normal reaction w/puppy vaccination? |

Hi!
Gandald of 13 weeks now and went last friday to the 12 week vacinations.
he doesnt eat a lot since then.. and sleeps more than usual.. I guess this is normal since it happened before.
anyway, why don't you call the vet? perhaps he can explain what's going on...

| I'd google the vacc and see what side effects are. You could call your vet, too, although they'll probably want you to bring him in. |

I did, but the vet's office does not open 'till 0900 (not for 45 min). |

It very well could be a reaction to the vaccine if this is the second time it's happened.
You say he has had diarrhea through the night and threw up once. If he doesn't have a fever, is not lethargic, and has a good appetite I would hold off taking him to the Vet and just watch him closely today. Give him a few tablespoons of 100% canned pumpkin with his food to firm up his stools.
Give your Vet a call when they open up though and let them know whats going on and also call them if there are any changes for the worse. |

jmwgomz,
Diarrhea is one of the adverse reactions that can occur after vaccination. Which vaccine did your pup receive? You should definitely call your vet.
Our dogs love bananas, and they are anti-diarrheal.

Sending some woofs and prayers that Zeke is feeling better...
The vaccines can do a number on our poor pups. Wyatt our youngest is 7months, and I do remember him having loose stools, and sleeping alot. It did subside after a few days. We just made sure he was drinking more then usual, and giving icecubes to him to keep him hydrated. That is super important.
