very small poop after dinner consisting of one dark turd, brown mucus, and green foam..
fantastic.. this is so gross..
boiling more rice for tomorrow..
acting a lot more like himself, though.. he must have had a real upset tummy after lunch today..
going to take him to play frisbee in an hour or so.. i'll update again after breakfast..
thanks again for caring about Hooch.. i wouldn't have believed it before joining this forum that there was a place where strangers become family, and are truly concerned about your dog's poo close to as much as you are.. |

WE'LL TAKE THAT COLOR POOP HERE!!!! Zane is still battling the orange/ but getting darker poo....
ORANGE....is not not not good...means the red blood cells are disapearing...
Got a weird thought...on another support group that zane is on for his blood disease thing, they were mentioning cooked oatmeal...to give that a try for some stomach settling....wonder if Hooch would eat a spoonful of that??? Zane won't touch it unless there is something along with it....
Just throwing it out there...
Hoooooooooooch we love you!! Hope that poo turns normal soon.....

Aww...Hoochie, I hope you feel better soon little boy. And stay out of the fridge
It sounds like his poops are at least starting to get better. I have given Jake cooked oatmeal for the runs and it's worked wonders. Not instant, the real cooked kind. There is just good stuff in there. Come to think of it, the last one was Gunnar. He had thrown up twice in the night and had major runs. I got up and made him oatmeal for breakfast and dinner. Next morning, solid poop. |

well, glad the poops are not liquid still.
It is AMAZING how much we all worry about each other's dogs!
I can't wait to meet Hooch in person; if you're going to Loreal.
Feel better Hooch and stop worryin' your mamas!! |

we gave him some oatmeal the day before yesterday..
unfortunately, after chicken and rice breakfast AGAIN.. he did nothing.. not even a squat..
now the sucker is backed up..
i really hope he isn't obstructed by something.. his abdomen isn't distended or tender..
i plan on giving him chicken and rice all day.. and see..
i know from past episodes, when he gets a belly issue, it usually takes him a while to work it out..
if he doesn't go after lunch, i am calling my handy dandy veterinarian..
i have to work tonight, too.. so i hope i can go feeling a little more reassured than i do right now..
my baby comes first, before all of the babies i help deliver, though!
again, i thank you for the support.. as does Hooch Macalli Monster..
any other words of wisdom?
BTW.. weimamama.. i will def. see you there! i can't wait!!! |

Im not sure if its just a Grace thing but since im sooo used to her having tummy troubles...the sign for me that her diarrhea is stopping is she actually will not go for awhile. Thats usually my sign that shes feeling better...I always assumed its bc shes all cleaned out from having it run right through her so once things get back on track it takes a bit for stuff to build back up for her to poo again ha
sooo the not going potty could just be a sign that he has gone back to digesting normally I hope! |

How many days of diarrhea? Is it watery or just loose? I didn't read about the cream incident but cream would do it. Has he been fasted? Throwing up bile is probably an empty stomach thing. Mucus usually means the body is getting the "yuckies" out.
You could try slippery elm, it creates muscilage which helps coat the stomach. Cooke oatmeal as mentioned is also good, again it creates muscilage which coats and soothes the stomach.
I see you are giving him a bland diet which is good. Make sure it's truly bland, minimal fat. Keep him hydrated. You can treat diarrhea at home but if it's bad and going on for many days might warrant a vet visit. |

he's been feasting on ice cubes, because he hasn't been that interested in plain water.. bland dinner again.. i even warmed it up, cause i thought that might help push it thru.. no poo..
so funny.. first he wouldn't stop the waterfall, now today i got one small, lame poop.. but at least it was semi formed in a pool of mush..
i'm sure he'll go eventually.. tummy still looks good.. no tenderness or distension.. mucous membranes moist, activity level normal.. i just can't believe the cream from thursday is still effecting him?!
so, oatmeal for breakfast or chicken and rice again? |

no poop after dinner.. woke up at 1AM to go.. small and mushy, but not liquid was the report i got.. no poo yet today after breakfast and lunch..
caved and called the vet. she is pretty confident it is still a reaction to the cream.. looks like i'll be cooking for Hooch for a few more days..
i'll update if anything changes.. |
