Hello guys,
Just wondering if any of you can give any feedback. On this product. I am still having issues with Zeke having bumps on his body. I do not believe it is a food allergy and am starting to think it may be bugs biting him. I have not seen any fleas on him at all but I think maybe bugs are getting to him when I walk him.
I will take a picture when I get home and post it. |

| I use a doggie fly and mosquito repellent on these guys when they are out. You have to reapply it a lot though. |

| I use dilluted SSS (Avon Skin So Soft) it seems to help her - especially her more tender/sensitive areas (belly bites have gone way down with it) |

Kinda funny this was brought up.......
Today, the kids and I took Darby for a walk and a VERY old woman stopped us and asked if she could give me a "tip for my dog" - the tip is to add garlic powder to the dogs food each day to repel fleas, ticks, you name it! Wouldn't that be something if a simple thing such as garlic powder could replace all these medications out there???!!!!! |

The barn I used to board at fed it to the horses too. Some feel garlic is toxic but I heard it is only in really high concentrations.
I sometimes use peppermint soap (http://www.drbronner.com/DBMS/PEP.htm) or Eucalyptus soap (http://www.drbronner.com/DBMS/EUC.htm) - I learnt this from a friend who was taught by a dog sledding woman. She sprays the diluted soap on her dogs kennels as well. |

I use it year round for my dogs. Have for about the last 3 years with Nena and since we adopted Gunther. It works great. I never seen a flea, but have seen a tick, but just crawling, never attached. Nena just tested positive for Lyme last week. We live in a heavy tick infested area. The deer ticks are so freakin small though, I don't think I could see them without bionic eyes
I started using it because I was looking for an alternative to putting chemicals on them. |

| Mischa had bumps that looked just like that and the vet said they were mosquito bites. |

Mosquito bites? I can't remember the last time I even saw a mosquito. I have seen several ants around my house though. Tiny black ones. I didn't think they bite though?!?!? |

What kind of food do you feed? When did they start? Do you feed Cosequin?
My dogs were allergic to an additive in Cosequin and got bumps like that...I doubt your feeding Cosequin to your pup though. |

I'm feeding him Canidae All Life Satges. He got a stomach bug at about the same time these appeared (maybe three weeks ago). I got him off the Canidae and on food from the vet. Stomach bug went away but the bumps persist. He was on the Canidae for about a month without any issues. I spoke with my breeder and she told me she doubted it was a food allergy if he had been on the food for so long without incident.
I'm thinking they're probably bug bites but I have not seen a single bug on him ever. I would just like to get a better idea of what it might be before I start pumping him full of meds/supplements/chemicals/etc. |

That must be nice. We have a ton around here and have been getting lots of rain wich makes it even worse - we practically live in a swamp.
How long has he had the bumps? Mischa's went away within a week |

They seem to come and go. The one's he scratches stick around longer. They must be bug bites. I think I'm going to give Bug-Off Garlic a try. |

what a beautiful pup.. growing up nicely.. that's a whole lot of bug bites, if that is what it is.. i would just watch it.. see what happens.. if more appear, maybe check in with the vet..
i give Hooch a yeast powder with garlic powder in it.. made for pets.. a scoop mixed in with his kibble and some yogurt, every other day or so with lunch to repel nasty bugs.. i also use the holistic shampoo, as well.
i was very hesitant to use the chemicals that say "don't touch your dog after applying"..
so far we have been fine.. but he doesn't spend a ton of time in the woods, either. |

| I give them Springtime Inc's Fresh Factors. I wanted to try the Bug-Off garlic but my vet said the garlic content was too high and she was afraid it would do more harm than good. Just an FYI. We use a mosquito repellant system for our yard - covers an acre. No mosquitos at the house anymore! |
