| Interceptor....anywhere from every 30 to every 45 days...I never go more than 45. Monthly is not really necessary..it is just easier to remember to give it to them that way. With four, I try to stretch it out just a little. |

| Luna is on Heartguard 6 months out of the year, they do a blood test every spring before we can begin with the preventative. |

| I use Interceptor. I give it to them every 37ish days. I used to only give it about 9 months of the year but after Scooter's ordeal I will be giving it all year long, but I'm a little further south than most of you all. |

| Heartguard year round. Zane is exposed to a lot of other dogs at Doggy Day Care and I would hate for him to get sick when I could have easily prevented it. |

Heartworms can only be passed along by a skeeter. You don't have to worry about getting them from other dogs. They can however, pick up worms(round, hook) from other dogs, so that in itself might be a good reason for use thru out the year.
I use interceptor or Iverhart March thru November. Depends on which I can get cheaper at the time. |

I'm a bit more protective since he caught the papilloma virus at Day Care and got sicker than most do. It's transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitos, so there's a chance! A bit paranoid, I know! If only I could find a way to wrap him up in bubble wrap and get him to keep it on..... |

Our boys get a heartworm chewy once a month all year long, also they are tested 2 times a year. Its funny because the little tester thing looks like a pregnancy test...I joke with the vet because it looks like that and we have to male dogs....
Our Animal med center actually makes up their own chewy heartworm pills.
