Hi Everyone! Since I'm new to WA, I thought I'd take a few minutes to introduce myself. First, a little about my background.....My original owners got me as a puppy and took really good care of me, although some would argue that they cared a little TOO much (like my new mom, she says they were wack-jobs ). They used to have my teeth cleaned yearly, which I HATED cuz I had to get all drugged up - I would've really prefered they brush my teeth once in awhile. Anyway, since I have hip dysplasia, they automatically gave me meds to keep the pain under control, but if they would've just kept me on the slimmer side and fed me quality food (they fed me Ol' Roy ), I wouldn't have needed the medication all the time. I will give them props, though, for having me on the glucosamine/condroitin supplements . Another thing, they used to give me some sort of supplement so when I went potty, I didn't turn the grass brown . Yeah, well, that's what dogs do.
Anyway, they spoiled me . I learned all my commands but they let me run the show . I wasn't crate trained and I learned that if I barked, I'd usually get my way - I guess that's why they got that bark collar for me . This all probably adds up to why they gave me up for adoption. My new mom has an idea (she was reading through my paperwork one day and said something to my dad about them "expecting" and then said some words that I'm not allowed to repeat ), eventhough the "technical" term was "a change in family circumstances".
So now I'm in Cleveland. You want to know something funny??? My previous owners live "a stones throw" away in a place my mom referes to as BRUNSTUCKY ! Ah, yeah, I had a good chuckle when my mom told me that one! Oh, where was I going with this.........Oh yeah, now I live in Cleveland with my mom and dad, a fur sister named Glacier and 3 human kids that are really great. They help feed me and give me treats and make me sit and stay. I like going on walks with them too, except most times one of them falls and skins their knees, so then we have to cut our walk short . But that's ok, we go back out later! Oh, and they bought me my very own pool and I love it SO! I've been very well behaved the last week, my mom says it's the honeymoon phase and she's sure it won't last. But I'm trying!
So there you have it. That's my story so far, and I'm sure my mom will share all of our ups and downs!
,
Darby |

Oh Darby I am SO proud of you, you have the best mommy around and she loves you very much. Maybe (don't tell her I suggested this) but maybe if she put a leash on one of the non-fur siblings they wouldn't fall as much. shhh....
Just kidding! |

Darby,
So glad you found your new family! We are so glad you joined us on WA. Our mom loves seeing everyones Weimie pictures and posts lots of pics of us too!
Sometimes we are bad, but mostly good. My brother Gunther is still learning the ropes of living with a normal Weim family, and sometimes drives our parents crazy, but we love him anyway.
Just fyi, there is some good lookin older Weims on here too, Jake and Blue (sorry if I missed someweim).
Hugs from
Nena
& Gunther too! |

Good to meet you Miss Darby. You're just the sweetest girly ever and you got a really good family there. I hope that this "honeymoon" stage doesn't end because I know you are doing your best.
Oh, by the way, I don't like Ol' Roy either. That's what my old family gave me too. I mean really, if they cared at all they'd know better.
Lots of love from us in Oklahoma,
Scooter and my friends Sadie and Amber!
PS. I think your really cute. ( Scooter) |
