Hello!!!

My husband and I have been reading the blogs for awhile now, and I guess it's time to register and participate!!

Boris is our almost 10 month old Weim, and I fell in love on first sight on the internet. We live in the San Diego area, and did a whole lot of research on Weims before we found Kathy and her husband in Pahrump, NV (outside of Las Vegas). Kathy really wanted to know who we are, what are intentions for the pup were/are, etc. She matched us up with a pup, who is just perfect for us!!! I can't believe she knew his personality at only 4 weeks, but she did!!!

He is an absolutely terrific pup - extremely energetic (surprise, surprise!), which is what I wanted! I'm losing weight after gastric surgery, and needed an exercise companion. He's happy, wants to be the center of attention, and is always up for any exercise or learning experience. He was sitting as soon as he ran up to us since he was a pup, and I've caught him frequently in a pointing position, just naturally. He's graceful, and handsome, and I'm in love for the second time in my life (the first, of course, was my husband!).

I've had no experience with Weims; just a golden retriever. My husband owned a weim in college, and knew what I was in for. My husband is allergic to animal fur/dander, which we discovered after I had my golden and our cats. Our last cat is a senior citizen, and we will not be replacing her when it's her time to go.

Boris, however, in all respects, is perfect for everything. My husband, Zenon, has been trying to talk me into getting a mobile home camper for years, but now that I have Boris and want to take him on vacation with us, the camper would be perfect, and we're making plans to get one next year.

By profession, I'm a math teacher (high school). By hobbies, I'm a seamstress and use machine embroidery, and work with stained glass, both cold, fused and hot.

Boris is already a member of the family, and I'm finding less time for hobbies, but that's the point; I have to quit being a couch potato with sit-down hobbies.

Oh, I don't have any children, wasn't able to have them, so that's another reason for Boris. I and Boris had to be professionally trained because I had treated him as a child.

Welcome to the group! There are several ways to post pics on here. If you have them on your harddrive, an easy way to do it, is to post a message and click on Add image to Post under the spell check as I type box. Smile

As for the avatar, you'll have to shrink a pic down and upload it under editing your profile.
