I'm so sorry for your loss. I just came across your post and am now crying my eyes out. Even in his pictures there is a story that he seems to share. I cannot imagine how you feel, but I am so glad that you had that wonderful boy for 12 years. He's the luckiest dogs ever. God bless you!
RIP Gus |

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I actually stumbled upon your video on YouTube a few days ago even before reading your post here. It was a great tribute and I am now going to make one for my beloved Reny that we lost on 7.15.07 to bloat. Your Gus looked alot like my Reny and its so great to see such happy pictures of a sweet weimaraner.

So sorry to hear of your loss. He is in a better place until you meet again
What a heart felt story. I have many of those just like yours that I share with many of our clients at the clinic I work at. I always say it's a gift that we can give them |

thanks for the support, everyone. we're doing ok. it has been 2 weeks since Gus' passing and it gets a little easier everyday, although yesterday was our wedding anniversary, and as a gift my husband had Gus' collar embroidered with his name and his birth and death date. It made me cry my eyes out.
i have found a lot of comfort on this site looking at all the photos of other dogs that remind me of Gus. Cengle, I think it's great that you plan on making a tribute to Reny. It helped me a lot to work through my grief and remember better times. Reny looks like a beautiful boy. They are both running free now. |

although I'm sure you didn't want to spend your anniversary crying your eyes out, I think that gift is such a thoughtful, sentimental idea. It's a nice physical memento of your sweet Gus. |

When our non-Weim Casey passed it was 2 wks before my bday. DH got me a silver locket with her picture. I too, cried my eyes out. It's a beautiful gesture, though! |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you are going through. I'm sure it is incredibly difficult. The video tribute you posted on YouTube was very touching. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. |

Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear about Gus, the video is a beautiful tribute to his memory. I was in tears reading your post-touches very close to home.
Thinking of you during this sad time. Gone, but never forgotten

| What a beautiful tribute. I loved the picture of him (on a boat?), with the sun on his face, casting a perfect shadow behind him. He seems like a gentle and happy (and smart!) soul. Dogs do seem to appreciate the present more than most of us do. They pack a lot of living in those years. Looks like Gus sure did. I am so sorry for your loss... |

so funny you point that out - that's one of our favorite photos of him. he looks calm and serene. that was his one and only boat ride. right after the photo was taken, he jumped off the boat to try to get at a swan, and I had to jump in and guide him back to the lake shore. |
