Fly Bites on Ears

Kaspers got some fly bites on his ears and I was wondering what other used on them? I use fly spray to prevent them, but maybe I need to try another brand.

Hemi and Chevy were covered in them at the parl yesterday!

I just gave them Benadryl, went down in a few hours. This has never happened to us before.

The bugs are terrible up here. Benadryl is our solution too if they look bad or are itchy.

I'd be interested in hearing what people use as repellent. I've looked for something more natural but I have been very successful.

I know that there is some sort of petroleum based ointment that we used on our dogs on the farm, but all darned if I can remember it. It was in a round plastic jar with a black label...LOL.

I do put human insect repellent on them when the bugs are bad. I only put it on their ears and around their tails, cause that's where they like to go. But, if they get bit and are uncomfortable I give them a benedryl and they are all better.

I use avons skin so soft on their ears...It's a little oily but smells great..it really deters the bugs Wink
